Little League Legends

A realistic Little League baseball game where great timing, smart plays, and a growing team can make players legendary.

Current stage: Make

Brain dump

The original idea

A baseball game with hitting, pitching, fielding, seasons, gear, free agents, stadiums, fans, CPU opponents, and later multiplayer. On offense, the player bats one player at a time and controls runners after hits. On defense, the player starts as pitcher and switches to the fielder who needs to make the play.

The heart of this idea

It should feel like real Little League baseball: home runs are exciting because they are earned with skill, and the game becomes harder as players improve.

First experiment

Show one pitch, flash a small soft spot in the strike zone, and let the player swing. Better timing should make a stronger hit.

Tiny next step

What is the next tiny step for the Make stage?

    Made
We named the game Little League Legends, chose tapping a base to send a runner after a hit, and made a tiny game with one pitch, one swing, a runner that automatically goes to first base after a hit, a small green timing target with a small red home-run spot, a soft-spot clue before the pitch, ground balls that roll smoothly across the grass when the swing is above the red spot, pop flies that float up and come down smoothly when the swing is under the red spot, and hits that can land closer or farther away, a strike zone that fades away after a hit, a Home button for scoring a run, an outfield fence that a perfect swing can clear, home-run balls that arc back down behind the fence, and big fireworks that stay visible for every home run.
    Noticed
Perfect timing feels like a skill that can get harder as players improve. A small soft spot in the strike zone is clearer than an arrow from this camera angle.
    Next tiny goal
Try aiming for the tiny red spot to hit over the fence, then decide whether the fireworks should change colors or make a different celebration.
